Visual art meets music courtesy of the artistic brother and sister duo Joycia and Jerald Angelo Juatco.

What do you get when you mix visual arts and poetry with music? The answer: No Lore.

This Friday (December 10), indulge your senses courtesy of indie alt-pop duo No Lore composed of siblings Joycia a.k.a. Tita Halaman and Jerald Angelo Juatco on GMA Playlist.

The name No Lore is derived from “No Folklore,” meaning “Don't just dream or tell it, make it happen.”

Curiously, the pair's music gets its inspiration from Tita Halaman's nonconformist oil paintings with poetry.

Both self-taught artists, No Lore takes listeners to a unique musical journey that is both visual and auditory all at the same time.

Their song “A Leo,” for example, showcases the duo's penchant for writing playful words and tunes packed with feels that listeners can relate to.

“The song was inspired by my personal story since I myself is a Leo and brave enough to always dive in and fight for love and realized that it's real, that sometimes you can feel strange why other people couldn't dive in with you especially when knowing that the feeling's mutual anyway,” Tita Halaman said about the track.

The song “Lou,” meanwhile, features bouncy beats wrapped with haunting melody and melancholic lyrics.

“Lou is the Scot word for 'love' but the song is about denying it. It portrays an image of a girl who hides the love she feels out of fear,” the group explained. “It's about a traumatic girl named 'Lou' who's afraid to fight for the things she loves. This song is about capturing that beautiful moment of desperate persistence out of love and courage.”

Written first as a poem, “Lou” was then made into a painting by Tita Halaman before writing a song about it to further convey its emotion.
