Garrett Bolden unlocks another milestone with the release of his first album, "Chapters"

Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden opens a new chapter in his musical journey via his first-ever album under GMA Music titled “Chapters,” which is now available for download and streaming on digital platforms worldwide.

His album contains previously-released singles “Lilipad Na” and “Handa Na Maghintay,” his compositions “Our Love,”  the theme song of I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, and "Pwede Pa Ba," the theme song of the Thai series Bad Romeo, and his new single “Ikaw Pala,” a revival of Kris Lawrence’s classic hit song from the early 2000s.

Garrett feels very grateful and excited with this milestone in his career,  “Nae-excite po ako kasi it's a fulfillment for me to release my first album. Nung medyo bata ako gusto ko talaga na magkaroon ng sariling CDs tapos pipirmahan. Pero since we're on a digital era na, releasing an album this time is really a blessing kaya I'm thankful for it po.”

According to the Kapuso singer, releasing this album seems like a new chapter in his life, leading to more opportunities and possibilities. He also thought of the title “Chapters” because all his previous singles and this new one have something different in terms of their musicality and their lyrics. It’s like each one is a different chapter.  

He also shared the process of creating the album and choosing to revive “Ikaw Pala,”  “During the process of picking songs at sa pag-iisip ng aking next single, there have been a couple of songs in our mind. Pero nung narinig namin itong 'Ikaw Pala,' parang ang sarap po talagang bigyan ng sariling interpretation. Kaya ito po ‘yung napili namin and it turned out to be a good version of the song.”

He added that he decided to release a revival this time because he believes there are so many beautiful and good Original Pinoy Music that have already been written and released, and he wants the younger generation to also know these songs.

Furthermore, he briefly shared his remarkable journey in Miss Saigon and his plans for his music, “‘Yung journey ko po ng Miss Saigon is something that I would not forget kasi it's my first big production,  and it's Miss Saigon. I’m thankful for all the experience na nakuha ko during the production. Hopefully, I could do more of that as well. Sa music career naman po, I'll continue to release more songs. There’s another one coming out very soon, but that’s going to be a secret for now. Sana abangan ng mga Kapuso.”

Garrett earlier won as New Male Recording Artist at the 11th PMPC Star Awards for Music for "Lilipad Na." He was also named the People's Choice for New Male Artist at the 33rd Awit Awards and Male Pop Recording Artist at the 12th PMPC Star Awards For Music for "Handa Na Maghintay."
