JC Regino to release debut single 'Idolo' as an official recording artist of GMA Music
"Idolo" was written by JC Regino as a tribute to his late dad's fans for the never-ending support they have shown.
JC Regino, the son of OPM icon April Boy Regino, will be releasing his self-penned single titled "Idolo" on February 24. This will be his debut single as an official recording artist of GMA Music.
JC wrote and composed this song as a way of giving thanks to the numerous fans and supporters of the April Boys (April Boy, Vingo, and Jimmy Regino). He feels that the fans deserve to have a song dedicated to them.
The Kapuso singer began to write this song six months after April Boy passed away in November 2020. It was only last year, after JC's birthday in September 2022, when he missed his dad so much that he remembered the song and got to bring it to completion.
"Hindi po expected talaga na tatanggapin po ng GMA [Music] 'yung awit po namin para po sa mga tagahanga ni dad," he shared.
JC continued, "'Yung pagod, 'yung hirap, 'yung oras talagang worth it po sa paggawa po ng awit na ito. Kasi 'yung proseso po ng paggawa namin ng kanta mas mahirap po sa normal kasi ang mga uncle ko po, ninong ko po, nasa Amerika na po sila. Ang nangyari po is tumigil na po sila kumanta tapos kinausap ko sila na, 'Ninong Vingo, Tito Jimmy, samahan n'yo po ako sa paggawa ng kantang 'to para po 'to sa mga fans ni dad.
"Ang balak lang po namin nu'ng una ay ilabas lang po sa YouTube or kung saan man para talagang marinig lang po ng mga tao. Laking pasasalamat po namin kay God dahil sa pamamagitan po ng GMA [Music] kinuha po 'yung awit namin para mas marinig po. Alam po namin na ang GMA [Music] po ang makakatulong para mas marinig po ng maraming tao at mas maabot po ng mga tagahanga ni dad at ng April Boys 'yung mensahe po ng kanta. Kaya sobrang masayang-masaya po ako at excited po ako na ito na po malapit na pong lumabas."
"Idolo" will be available for pre-order on iTunes on February 17 until February 23.
