Kaloy Tingcungco's "Infatuation" reaches iTunes PH Top 20

Kaloy Tingcunco just released his debut single under GMA Playlist titled "Infatuation" which has reached the iTunes Philippines 18th spot on it's release day, January 17. 

"I'd like to call it a passion project between me and GMA Playlist, pero 'yung kuwento siguro doon sa mismong kanta, it's a story of someone telling his or her confusion niya sa feelings niya towards another person.

"Hindi niya sure kung mahal niya ba or it's just an infatuation. He's navigating his feelings for someone special. By the end of the song, masasagot din naman kung ano 'yung nararamdaman niya," the Unang Hirit host told GMANetwork.com.

Kaloy added, "Ginagamit niya 'yung feelings niya to express and to find answers sa kung ano ang nararamdaman niya para doon sa taong 'yun.

"The beauty of the song is in how we deliver it. It's a story worth telling. May journey siya, so maririnig mo sa bawat line kung ano 'yung magiging kwento at 'yung naging sagot.

The entire songwriting and recording process of "Infatuation" has been two years in the making, Kaloy said, "I first listened to it almost two years ago, and it took time for it to be released. Meron lang kaming mga naging obstacles along the way that's why it had to be pushed back. But finally we're ready for people to listen to it.

"Since I first heard the song two years ago, may mga naging pagbabago na. One of those is my voice. Medyo naging mas buo na according to my coach so we had to adjust how I sing it when we recorded it."

Aside from hosting and acting, Kaloy shared it's been a goal for him to make music.

"Siyempre, proud moment ito, not just for me but especially for my family. This is a milestone for me and my family, kasi dream ko ito."

While going through a fleeting crush is a universal experience, Kaloy said he is normally very attuned to his emotions and choices.

"I've experienced being infatuated before, but unlike sa song na meron uncertainty, ako I'm very decisive sa kung ano ang nararamdaman ko. I'm very sure of what I feel and what I want."

He also shared what listeners can learn from "Infatuation," "I hope the song can help listeners navigate their feelings tulad ng ginawa ko dito sa kanta, and help them find answers kung ano 'yung nararamdaman niya talaga sa special person nila sa buhay."
