Plume captures the magic of unexpected love in their emotionally charged new single, “Kidlat.”

Filipino solo artist Shaquille Dumpit, also known by his stage name Plume, makes a powerful comeback with the release of “Kidlat,” a soulful and emotionally-charged single that captures the feeling of falling in love when you least expect it.

Released under GMA Music, the song highlights Plume’s poetic songwriting and heartfelt delivery, resonating deeply with listeners who’ve experienced love’s unexpected return.

With Plume behind the music and lyrics, “Kidlat” (which means lightning in Filipino) tells the story of someone who once promised never to fall in love again, only to be struck by a love so sudden and intense, it feels like lightning. The lyrics echo that surprise and vulnerability: “Oh ako’y nagulat / Hindi ko inaasahang / Damdami’y magmamahal muli.”

The chorus “Isang kidlat mula sa iyong mga mata / Ako’y napa-ibig mong muli”—illustrates how even a single glance can spark overwhelming emotion and reignite hope.

The track was arranged by Darla Baltazar, with AJ Carpio as the recording, mixing, and mastering engineer. Caleb Hinanay produced the track, tying together an expressive soundscape that enhances Plume’s intimate vocal performance.

“Kidlat” is a quiet yet powerful reminder that love has its own timing, and when it arrives, it can light up even the darkest skies.

"Kidlat" is now available on all major streaming platforms.
