Malena Leonard brings forth her newest single under GMA Playlist, “Sa Iyong Tabi,” a song about longing for someone or something you truly want.

Now available on all digital streaming platforms, “Sa Iyong Tabi” is sure to resonate with listeners who have experienced being ‘friendzoned.’ According to Malena, “It’s like a yearning song—when you get friendzoned but you’re still willing to wait.”

Although Malena cannot relate yet in terms of love and romance, she draws inspiration from the feeling of yearning for many things she desires in life. She says, “Luckily, I haven’t gotten friendzoned yet. I haven’t pursued any romantic relationships but the song is still nice to sing for those who can relate.”

“I yearn for other things apart from romantic relationships, so I get from that. It’s a very passionate song, and I’m passionate about a lot of things. Doon po galing ‘yung emotions ko,” Malena adds.

Fans must tune in to this music to find out why it’s something unique for Malena, “I really love the slowness or the sultry vibe to it. The vocals fit really nicely with my voice, so I was very happy singing it. My last single was very dancey and bouncy. This one is a bit slower, so it’s a different genre.”
