Bont Bryan unveils romantic new single 'Ikaw ang Mundo' under GMA Playlist
GMA Playlist artist Bont Bryan is set to sweep Kapuso listeners off their feet with his latest single under GMA Playlist, “Ikaw ang Mundo.” The track, which is now available on digital platforms worldwide, is a deeply personal and romantic declaration of admiration.
Less than a week after the song’s release, Bont Bryan put his sentiments into action by proposing to his long-time partner, content creator, Baninay Bautista, in a fairytale moment in the City of Love, with the Eifell Tower in the background.
Composed by Simon L. Tan, mixed by Andrea Rae N. Culla, and produced by Rocky S. Gacho, “Ikaw ang Mundo” is described by Bryan in three words as “romantic, heartfelt, and dreamy.”
Bryan revealed that the inspiration for the single came from his simple, everyday habit of listening to love songs, which fueled a long-time ambition.
“The story behind ‘Ikaw ang Mundo’ actually comes from a simple habit of mine. Mahilig talaga akong makinig ng love songs. While listening, I always imagined myself having my own song someday, something I could use for my videos, especially ‘yung mga kilig moments. Kahit simple ‘yung melody, malalim ‘yung puso ng kanta,” Bryan shared.
He views the single as a realization of a long-held wish: “Para siyang dream come true na unti-unting nagiging totoo. The most challenging part was making sure the song sounded exactly how I imagined it sa utak ko, ‘yung tipong kapag narinig ko, masasabi kong, ‘Ito ‘yun. Ito ‘yung kantang matagal ko nang pinapangarap. But the most rewarding part was hearing the final output and realizing na ‘wow, nangyayari na talaga.’”
The song’s honest emotion is rooted in Bryan’s own personality. He relates to the track because it reflects his tendency to express deep feelings in a big way.
“I relate to it because it reflects how deeply I feel emotions. When I like someone or when I appreciate a person, I tend to express it in a big way. Parang siya talaga ‘yung mundo ko,” he explained.
With “Ikaw ang Mundo,” Bont Byran hopes to offer listeners a dose of warmth and comfort.
“I want listeners to feel warmth, kilig, and comfort when they hear my song. I hope the song feels like a soft hug! Something that makes you smile, makes your heart flutter, and reminds you of the special person who makes your world brighter,” Bryan said.
