John Rex's new single 'Umaasa Pa Rin' is out now!
John Rex's "Umaasa Pa Rin" is officially out now on all streaming platforms.
Kapuso pop ballad singer John Rex has released a new heartfelt single titled "Umaasa Pa Rin" under GMA Music.
"Umaasa Pa Rin" is a ballad revival of The Mike Bon Gang's well-loved original, used as the theme for the Koreanovela Reply 1997, which aired on GMA in August 2015.
"It's a written song na talaga siya, ten years ago. Ginamit siya sa isang Koreanovela dito sa GMA. Ginawa na siyang OST. Yung original is a rock version. So ngayon 'yung ire-release namin na 'Umaasa Pa Rin,' it's more [of a] slower version, medyo ballad siya, pero may ibang tweak kaming ginawa kasama ang GMA Music," John Rex shared.
The song captures the silent yearning of someone hoping to be loved by the person they admire.
For John Rex, however, "Umaasa Pa Rin" goes beyond love -- it also reflects the hope for good things to come into our lives.
"Parang lahat naman tayo, feeling ko, 'pag mayroon tayong nilu-look forward like umaasa tayo in a good way. I mean, umaasa tayo sa lahat ng better na dumating sa buhay natin.
"So, for me, 'Umaasa Pa Rin,' it's not just pagdating sa love, pero umaasa rin na mayroong magandang dumating sa buhay natin."
