Janno Gibbs returns to GMA Music with new single 'Pinay Pa Rin'
Janno Gibbs is returning to GMA Music with “Pinay Pa Rin,” a new single dedicated to celebrating the beauty and charm of Filipina women.
Janno Gibbs is making his return to GMA Music with a brand-new single titled “Pinay Pa Rin,” an upbeat tribute celebrating Filipina beauty and femininity.
In an interview, the actor and musician shared his thoughts on staying relevant in the ever-evolving music industry, saying that making good music matters more than status or longevity.
“I think being an old-timer, an OG doesn't mean anything. I think music ngayon ang bida ’eh. Hindi na pangalan. Ang kagandahan na lang ng music,” Janno said.
“So, OG or not, newbie or not, you have to make good music,” he added.
Janno also admitted that creating music has become more challenging these days because of changing trends and listener preferences.
“I'd say it's harder. Nag-iba na ang taste ng tao eh. Medyo parang mas foreign na. Iba na rin ang cadence and phasing ng mga tao but I don't wanna force myself into that, I do my own thing and sana ma-appreciate nila,” he said.
When asked about the greatest hit of his career, Janno pointed to his classic song “Fallin’.”
“I still think it's ‘Fallin’,’ I think it's a timeless song. I think na-appreciate pa rin siya ng mga bagets, parang classic na siya ’eh. It's a blend of old style music and the new, nasa gitna lang siya,” he shared.
As for “Pinay Pa Rin,” Janno described the upcoming release as both lively and empowering.
“It's fun but still anthemic kasi hini-hail natin ang Pinay beauty,” he said.
The singer-songwriter also explained that he does not box himself into writing either traditional or modern music.
“I don't think of traditional or modern music when I write my songs. It's how I feel today, ’yung naiisip kong flow, kaya ko na-imbibe ’yung new style of music because that's what I listen to now,” he said.
Stay tuned for Janno Gibbs’ new song “Pinay Pa Rin,” an ode to Filipina femininity and beauty, out on May 15, 2026 on music streaming platforms.
