Guadaña, Valdez, Bravo power LPU comeback vs. also-ran Letran | NCAA Philippines

Mclaude Guadaña, Enoch Valdez, and JM Bravo took turns in leading the 85-79 comeback win for Lyceum of the Philippines University against the already-eliminated Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the NCAA Season 99 on Sunday.

For now, LPU reclaimed solo top spot with a 10-3 record behind a four-game winning streak while Letran endure another loss to drop to 1-12.

Should Mapua University wins its game against San Sebastian later, both the Pirates and the Cardinals will gain the share of the lead.

Letran built a 14-point lead at some point in the third period but that quickly crumbled when Guadaña fired back-to-back triples early in the fourth to rally the Pirates, 64-68.

Valdez then completed a layup to tie things up at 72-all before Shawn Umali’s bucket gave LPU the lead back.

Bravo then put on the finishing kick by knocking down three straight triples as the Pirates completed the tough win.

Valdez had a near double-double outing as the graduating team captain churned out 18 points and nine rebounds on top of three assists while Guadaña posted 18 markers as well, 12 of those came in the first half, alongside three dimes.

Bravo had his second double-digit output after tallying 17 points off the bench alongside four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The loss spoiled Deo Cuajao's 24-point outburst that was built on six triples.
