Vanessa Bryant shares touching letter she received from Gigi's best friend

Vanessa Bryant received a touching letter honoring her daughter Gianna on her first death anniversary.

On Instagram, Vanessa shared the full letter written by one of Gigi's best friends, Aubrey Callaghan, who took the time to remember the late teen.

"Thank you so much for beautifully sharing some of your memories of my Gigi with me," Vanessa said. "My Gigi is incredible and I truly appreciate your thoughtful letter. She loves you so much. I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too."

In the letter, Aubrey praised Vanessa for raising an "angel" and talked about how Gigi became one of her inspirations to do better and love life as it was.

"She attacked each day as though it was hers to conquer. She would smile and bring the rest of us up with her," she said.

She said it was also the Mambacita who inspired her to venture into basketball, making them teammates for four years.

Aubrey said she thinks of Gigi every once in a while and dreams of the things that she could have achieved if given more time. However, she believes that Gigi has already left a wonderful mark in the world during her short life.

"Her fights for equality in sports made the world reconsider [their] opinions. She, along with Mr. Bryant, set the wheels in motion," she said.

"On behalf of every person who came across her, I can say that she changed our lives. Her simple actions made all of us a better person, and I believe that the results will never stop appearing," she added.

Aubrey said she would be privileged to share more of her stories about Gigi.

"I hope that in the midst of your intense sadness, you catch a glimpse of joy in who the daughter you created and raised was. You did it right, Mrs. Bryant," she said. "If I ever become a mom, I hope my daughter turns out exactly as yours did."

Vanessa, who marks one year since she lost her husband Kobe and second daughter in a helicopter crash, appreciated the words of comfort.

"Kob, we did it right. Gigi, you still make mommy proud. I love you!"
