It was followed by a short video showing the times of release in different areas and for Manila, it’s on May 14, Friday, at 12 p.m. Katy is also heard singing a part of the song.

Katy’s collaboration with Pokémon was first teased in January when the franchise posted a video where the pop star’s name appeared and her singing voice was heard.

She also shared the video on her Instagram account, saying that she’s feeling “pretty electric” about the partnership.

Pokémon kicked off its year-long anniversary celebration in January with a nostalgic video.

The first Pokémon video games, Pocket Monsters Red and Green, were released in 1996.

Pokémon has since been adapted into various media, including a popular anime series. —Franchesca Viernes/JCB, GMA News
