Rick Riordan to write new book about 'Percy Jackson' characters Nico and Will

Rick Riordan isn't done with the "Percy Jackson" universe just yet!

The author just announced that he will be working on a new book that will center on fan favorite character Nico di Angelo, the son of Hades, and his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo.

Riordan has teamed up with YA author Mark Oshiro for the project.

"It's happening, demigods: Rick and @MarkDoesStuff are writing a Nico and Will book!!!" Riordan said in a tweet.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new book will pick up in the aftermath of "The Trials of Apollo."

"To say that I'm excited about this project doesn't do it justice," Riordan was quoted as saying. "This is really new and different for me, and working with Mark, who knows so much about Nico and the Percy Jackson world and writes such heartbreakingly beautiful books, has been such an incredible and rewarding process that I'm just sorry I didn't think of it sooner."

Riordan is behind the popular "Percy Jackson & the Olympians," a series of books that brings to life Greek mythology as it tells the story of Percy, a once normal boy who discovers he is the son of Poseidon when he comes of age.

A series adaptation is set to hit Disney Plus. —JCB, GMA News
