QC validates 285 new COVID-19 cases; total at 12,980

The total number of COVID-19 cases validated by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices rose by 285 to 12,980, the QC government reported in a Saturday news bulletin.

While there were 2,458 active cases in the city, there were also 170 new recoveries bringing total recoveries to 10,080.

Unfortunately, four COVID-19 patients died from the illness, bringing the total number of deaths to 442.

Among Quezon City's districts, there were 457 active or recovering cases in QC's District 1, 289 active/recovering cases in District 2, 522 active/recovering cases in District 3, 603 in District 4, 482 in District 5, while District 6 had 105 active/recovering cases.

QC areas under a special concern lockdown due to the number and clustering of COVID-19 cases was reduced to just two areas as of Saturday:

  • 55 Serrano Laktaw, in Doña Aurora; and
  • 5 Col. Salgado in West Kamias.

Facilities, hospitals

Quezon City's HOPE 1 quarantine facility had 11 beds available for COVID-19 positive and suspected patients.

The HOPE 2 Facility, where those who had been tested in QC’s community-based testing sites are brought for self-isolation while waiting for their results, had 205 beds available.

The HOPE 3 Facility, where confirmed and suspected COVID-19 nursing mothers and their babies are accommodated, had 13 available rooms.

Meanwhile, the Novaliches District Hospital, which has 32 beds for suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases, had 16 of these beds occupied.

The Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital had all of its 22 COVID-19 beds occupied, while the Quezon City General Hospital had 54 of its 101 beds occupied. — DVM, GMA News
