Closed up U-turn slots blamed for heavy traffic on EDSA

Drivers on Tuesday blamed the closed u-turn slots for the heavy traffic in Northbound EDSA, according to Ian Cruz’s report on “24 Oras.”

Starting Monday, two u-turn slots near EDSA-Oliveros and EDSA-Balintawak were also closed to speed up the travel along the EDSA busway.

Drivers who were used to the U-turn slots on the avenue are now unsure where they could.

?“Magda-dawala na. Dito lang sa Oliveros,” a driver said.

“Ang tagal ho, grabe, isang oras. Sana hindi na nila sinarado yon,” another driver said.

Meanwhile, enforcers of the Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (DPSTM) said traffic may worsen as u-turn slots in Caloocan will also be closed.

“[S]igurado ‘yan. Lahat talaga ng traffic niya kasi wala silang ibang u-turn kundi dito lang talaga sa Monumento. Lahat ng sasakyan po,” Rolando Magay, a DPSTM enforcer, said. -Joahna Lei Casilao/NB, GMA News
