Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas ordered Tuesday the dismissal of two personnel from the Eastern Police District after they tested positive for illegal drugs use.

According to the PNP, a random drug test was conducted among 76 personnel of the EPD on January 13.

Patrolman Arnel Agustin of the District Human Resource and Doctrine Development Office and Police Corporal Regie Alilano of the Pasig City Police Sub Station 6 tested positive for shabu use.

The cops have been disarmed and placed under restrictive custody, the PNP said.

The PNP noted that the police officers would undergo pre-charge investigation and summary dismissal proceedings.

"We will not stop until we completely cleanse the police force of drug-using members," Sinas said.

He said he would task the unit commanders for accountability by ensuring that their personnel are not involved in illegal drugs to make the police force a drug-free organization. —KG, GMA News
