Navotas Mayor Tiangco receives COVID-19 jab

Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco on Monday received his first shot of CoronaVac, the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Chinese firm Sinovac.

"Certified NavoBakunado na rin po tayo! Sa lahat po ng mga residente at manggagawa sa ating lungsod, magpa-rehistro na sa ating NavoBakuna COVID-19 vaccination program," said Tiangco.

(We are already vaccinated. To all of our residents and workers in the city, please get registered for our city-wide vaccination.)

In a separate text message, Navotas Public Information Office told GMA News Online that Tiangco got his Sinovac jab in San Jose Academy at 11:30 a.m.

In addition, Tiangco said 3,618 frontline health workers, senior citizens and people with comorbidity in the city have already been vaccinated during the local immunization program against the severe viral ailment.

Last week, metro mayors in Valenzuela and Muntinlupa also received their COVID-19 vaccine shots after President Rodrigo Duterte approved the vaccination of mayors and governors in high-risk cities. — BM, GMA News
