As of October 11, a total of 23,360,489 people or 30.28% of the country’s target population have been fully vaccinated, according to the National Task Force Against COVID-19.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said that he is confident that 50% of the country's around 109 million population will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before Christmas.

Duterte made the statement with 23 million Filipinos already fully vaccinated. In Metro Manila, 77% of residents are already fully vaccinated.

"The challenge is now to further speed up our vaccination rollout, especially in the provinces, in the key cities and municipalities to achieve our target of at least 50% of the country’s target population by the end of the year," Duterte said. —LBG, GMA News
