DAR central, Regions 4A, 4B offices under lockdown due to COVID-19 case

Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones has ordered the immediate suspension of the operation and closure of DAR central office, and Region 4-A and 4-B offices after one of their officials tested positive for COVID-19.

In a press statement, the DAR central office suspended its operations on Tuesday afternoon, July 14. Regions 4-A and 4-B offices were also closed starting July 15 since these are housed inside the DAR central office compound in Quezon City.

Critical office functions, as determined by the sectors, shall be manned by a skeleton workforce during the lockdown period. Other DAR personnel will be working from home while the offices are being disinfected.

Castriciones instructed Administrative Services Director Primo Lara to closely coordinate with the Department of Health (DOH) for the swab testing of all DAR employees who had direct contact with the official who contracted the virus.

The employees will be tested from July 16 to July 18, 2020.

Castriciones said the Chief Protocol Officer for DAR would conduct a comprehensive contact tracing for the purpose of reporting findings to the DOH.

He also instructed all DAR employees to report their health status to their respective sectoral heads for monitoring and safety protocols.

The operation of the DAR offices is expected to resume on August 2. Castriciones, however, noted the lockdown period may be shortened or extended depending on the health emergency situation and results of the swab tests.—AOL,GMA News
