PTV implements stricter health protocols after employee tested positive for COVID-19

People’s Television Network (PTV) has implemented stricter health protocols after one of its employees contracted COVID-19, the state broadcaster said Wednesday.

PTV said the employee, who has been working remotely for weeks already, tested positive for the virus on July 6 but is “now under proper monitoring and treatment.”

“Despite the employee’s non-appearance in the station’s premises for weeks, network management has decided to implement testing on all its employees and to send home majority of its personnel, keeping only the barest minimum staffing in the office headquarters, to give way to heightened disinfection and sanitation of the facility,” the network said in a statement.

All employees were also directed to continue observing the health protocols to minimize any potential risks of exposure to the virus, which has infected over 57,000 people in the Philippines.—AOL, GMA News
