Gov. Remulla orders reopening of malls in Cavite

Malls in Cavite province have been allowed to reopen on Wednesday, a day after
Governor Jonvic Remulla and mall owners met and discussed new guidelines.

In a Facebook post, Remulla said mall operations will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for local customers only.

Quarantine pass is needed among mall-goers, Remulla said. Security personnel have been ordered to manage properly people who are waiting outside the establishments.

According to Remulla, those who will visit groceries and supermarkets will be limited.

"One customer out, one customer in. Hindi ninyo karapatan ang oras na ito. Ito ay pribilehiyo para sa inyong ikabubuti. Huwag abusuhin at marami pang ibang customer na kailangan bumili," he said.

"Frontliners priority lane will continue. You are our heroes. You are welcome in any mall anywhere," he added.

Remulla said if protocols inside malls would properly be implemented, the local government might also lift the liquor ban.

On Monday, Remulla directed the temporary closure of all shopping malls in the province, which is now under general community quarantine, due to violation of social distancing guidelines. --Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
