By PEEWEE BACUÑO

Camarines Norte was placed under a state of calamity on Monday after Typhoon Ulysses lashed the province.

The declaration was approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in a special session.

Local authorities agreed that the state of calamity will be in effect until the provincial disaster management council makes a recommendation for it to be lifted.

The municipality of Labo in Camarines Norte was earlier placed under state of calamity following the onslaught of Ulysses.
