Two more Pinoys abroad catch COVID-19; total rises to 10,869

There are now 10,869 overseas Filipinos infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced two new infections on Sunday. 

Of this number, 6,919 have recovered while 801 succumbed to the respiratory illness.

The other 3,149 patients are receiving treatment.

The Middle East/Africa region has the highest number of overseas Filipinos with COVID-19 at 7,137 with 4,307 recoveries and 519 deaths.

Europe has logged 1,209 Filipino COVID-19 cases, including 942 recoveries and 95 deaths.

In the Asia Pacific region, 1,713 overseas Filipinos have contracted COVID-19, of whom 1,204 have recovered and nine have died.

The Americas have the lowest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 810, with 466 recoveries and 178 deaths. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
