49-year-old Filipina in Canada killed, burned by 2 Filipino suspects

A 49-year-old Filipina in Canada was allegedly killed and burned by two Filipino suspects, one of which was a minor.

According to a report on “State of the Nation,” the police said the victim, Maria Cecilia Loreto, was killed at her home in New Westminster on March 17.

Loreto’s burned body was found the following day at a park in Burnaby, B.C.

Authorities have arrested 21-year-old suspect Carlo Tobias and his 15-year-old accomplice.

Based on reports of the Canadian media, the victim and the suspects knew each other.

Meanwhile, the cops did not disclose the motive behind the killing, saying that the information was sensitive. -- Joahna Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA News
