Iza was finally cleared on Tuesday and she made the donation three days later.

Iza said June 12 has always been a special day for her, because it is her mother's birthday and the country's Independence Day. Now, it has become even "more meaningful."

The actress previously revealed that she was feeling survivor's guilt following her COVID-19 ordeal. Now, she is glad to be of help to other patients in their own battles.

"As the doctor played 'Bayan Ko' my tears and my blood flowed," she said.

"It gave me so much hope to think that maybe I could help restore someone’s health and that, through our collective efforts, we can restore our country’s well being and make it better," she added. MGP, GMA News
