Filipino Mark Magsayo happy to fight on Pacquiao-Ugas undercard

Manny Pacquiao is not the only Filipino fighting in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday (Manila time).

Mark Magsayo will go against Mexican boxer Julio Ceja as part of the undercard in Pacquiao's fight against Cuba's Yordenis Ugas.

For Magsayo, this is the fulfillment of his dream.

"Sobrang saya ko, natupad na ang pangarap ko na ma-undercard kay Senator Manny Pacquiao kaya ngayon, ako na. Pagsisikapan ko na magdala ng karangalan para sa Pilipinas," Magsayo said on Friday.

[I am very happy that my dream to be included in the undercard of Sen. Manny Pacquiao has been fulfilled. Now, it's my time. I'll do my best to bring honor to the country.]

The Filipino fighter is also confident of knocking Ceja out.

"Let’s see what he does and I’m gonna do my best to win this fight," he said.

Should Magsayo win, he is a step closer in earning the right to fight WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell.

"Tatapusin ko muna ang laban na 'to. 'Pag natapos na to, ipapangako ko na mag-world champion ako sa next fight."

[I'll get past this fight first. After this fight, I'll promise to be world champion in my next fight.]

Magsayo vs. Ceja is one of the undercard matches of the Pacquiao-Ugas fight which is scheduled on Sunday, August 22 (Manila time).
