Before the NCAA Season 96 Opening Ceremony rolls out tomorrow, the ‘Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96’ gave fans an easy explainer on what to expect from two of the events to be featured: virtual taekwondo and skills-based volleyball.

Sammy Acaylar, the concurrent University of Perpetual Help System DALTA men’s volleyball head coach, shared there would be six volleyball skills challenges for this year, including serving, spike vertical jump, block vertical jump, setting, passing, and spiking.

Meanwhile, David Arellano, the Lyceum of the Philippines University taekwondo mentor, explained what will happen in the virtual taekwondo tilt. He said there are three events in the docket, composed of the poomsae, speed kicking and freestyle.

Host Sophia Senoron also got in touch with four student-athletes from different schools in Ella Rosales, Joshua Miña, Gelo Sablan, and Romeo Canino, who all stressed that adjusting to the new normal was challenging as they were used to face-to-face training.

'The Clash' products Anthony Rosaldo and Thea Astley were also in the studio for a special performance that aimed to highlight some of the best volleyball moments of NCAA.

Watch GMA Synergy's 'Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96' every weekday (2:45 p.m.), Saturdays (4:30 p.m.), and Sundays (5:05 p.m.) on GTV.
