TNC sweeps Nexplay to take second spot in final week of regular season

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

TNC Pro Team put themselves in a solid position for the last upper bracket slot after sweeping Nexplay Evos, 2-0, in the last week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9 on Saturday.

Another 2-0 win in their last season match against Bren Esports on Sunday will secure their top 2 seeding in the playoffs. Echo, meanwhile, has to score a win against Nexplay to have a fighting chance for the upper bracket seeding.

In Game 1, NXPE pulled ahead in the first minutes with timely pick offs but TNC quickly retaliated with a commanding 3-0 wipe in a 4th minute turtle fight to take control.

With TNC controlling the map, they easily scored a 3-0 takedown in the 13th minute to secure the luminous lord and take the opener.

Game 2 saw both teams prioritize objectives with a combined seven kills in the first 13 minutes of action. TNC established a 7k gold lead courtesy of better macro movements.

They converted the lead into a 3-1 tradeoff during a 14th minute skirmish that put the life out of NXPE for the sweep.

NXPE is on the verge of a massive collapse as they may miss the playoffs if they suffer another sweep against Echo. They need at least a one win to secure their playoff slot and avoid complicated tiebreaks with Blacklist International and Omega Esports.
