EJ Obiena continued to soar, snagging another gold medal as he ruled the Jump and Fly Meet in Germany on Sunday morning (Manila time).

The Filipino pole vault ace hurdled 5.80 meters to dominate a three-player field and cop his second gold since contracting COVID-19.

Obiena easily cleared 5.20m, 5.40m, and 5.60m before it took him three attempts to get past 5.80m. The 26-year-old athlete tried to shatter his Asian record of 5.93m but he failed in three tries at 5.94m.

Bokai Huang of China settled for silver with 5.50m while taking home the bronze was Vincent Hobbie with his 5.10m-performance.

This is Obiena's second gold after he also came out victorious in the Taby Stavhoppsgala in Sweden last June 29 while he finished at sixth in the Stockholm leg of the 2022 Wanda Diamond League.
