By RICHA NORIEGA,GMA News

The Department of Foreign Affairs announced the temporary suspension of its consular office National Capital Region (NCR) West in Manila to give way for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos on Thursday.

DFA's announcement came on the heels of the declaration of a special non-working holiday in the city of Manila for Marcos’ oathtaking.

The NCR West consular office is located at the SM City Manila, which is near the National Museum, the venue for the inauguration.

“Affected passport and apostille or authentication applicants, with confirmed appointments, who will be unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension of operations will receive an email from CO NCR West informing them of their new appointment date,” the DFA said.

According to the DFA, the operations of the consular office NCR West will resume on Friday, July 1.

Marcos’ inauguration as the 17th president of the Philippines will be held on June 30 at the National Museum.
