Marcos tested for COVID-19 after Cambodian PM contracted coronavirus

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. was tested for COVID-19 after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen contracted the coronavirus.

"The President had himself tested as part of the health protocol for the APEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand. He also instructed members of the official delegation to Cambodia to have themselves tested," the Office of the Press Secretary said on Tuesday.

"The President extends his wishes to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for a speedy recovery," it added.

The result of his COVID-19 test was yet to be disclosed to the media.

Hun Sen bared that he tested positive for COVID-19 on his official Facebook page.

Marcos and Hun Sen met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit held in Phnom Penh Thursday last week.

Marcos will depart for Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday to join other world leaders for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.—AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
