Cops seize over P2.6M worth of illegal drugs in Binangonan

Authorities have seized more than P2.6 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested a suspect in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal on Thursday.

The Police Regional Office IV-A said the 33-year-old suspect was nabbed around noon after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover police operative in Aragon Compound, Upper Left Kasinay in Barangay Darangan.

Seized were about 397 grams of suspected shabu in four knot-tied transparent plastic with an estimated street value of P2,699,600.

The evidence was brought to Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for appropriate laboratory and drug test examinations, while the suspect turned over to Binangonan Municipal Police Station, where he faces charges for violations of Section 5 in relation to Sections 26 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
