The Southwest Monsoon, strengthened by a low pressure area, has dumped rains across Luzon on Friday, triggering widespread flooding, especially in Pampanga and Zambales.

In San Fernando, Pampanga, authorities had to evacuate several residents due to intense floods, with the waters reaching waist level. Children had to board boats for evacuation, and one rescuer was seen lifting a senior citizen.

Several roads in Angeles City, Pampanga are also not passable for light vehicles due to floods, with local authorities urging motorists to take alternative routes. This includes Sto. Entierro, Cutcut Flyover, Sto. Cristo Intersection, and Pandan Road near Jaoville.

In Cabangan, Zambales, no vehicles could pass the national highway in Barangay Mabanglit because of the floods.

Footage from the Cabangan Municipal Police showed waist-high waters overtaking several roads in the town.

Malacañang has already suspended classes in several Luzon areas, including Metro Manila, Pampanga and Zambales. —LDF, GMA News
