Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas — PAGASA

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring occasional rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Monday, PAGASA reported.

The state weather bureau continues to monitor the tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Tropical Storm Krovanh (formerly Pilandok) that is located 1,155 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and moving neastward at the speed of 10 km/h.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Antique, and the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the southwest to west direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
