Residents in Zone Ube, Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City in the Province of Cebu have revived the spirit of 'bayanihan' (cooperation) among neighbors.
Diosdado Mangubat and Helen Bandilao, concerned residents, led a communal work by coordinating first with the Purok Development Office in their sub-village so the Local Government Unit of Mandaue City can provide them cement and other construction materials.
Residents used the materials to repair what used to be a muddy access to the main road from their residences.
Residents said the improvement, done through the spirit of volunteerism, made passing through the alley convenient now for everyone.
