At least 72 youth leaders from provinces in the Bicol Region have convened at the Bicolano Youth Conference in Naga City to engage with each other to gain new insights and knowledge to create projects beneficial to their communities.

Organized by the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Bicol Hub, the conference marked the 10th anniversary of the organization.

"Napakaimportante ang pag-aattend sa mga arog kaining seminars or arog kaining conference dahil may mga nakukua kitang bagong insights," Luis Magdamit, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairperson of Barangay Dalupaon, Pasacao, said.

Magamit emphasizes that these occasions serve as opportunities for youth leaders to hone their skills and acquire knowledge that they can apply to their responsibilities as leaders.

YSEALI alumni shared their experiences with the organization and their advocacy in the event.

Pearly Esperida, Director of YSEALI Bicol Hub, hopes that the young leaders would be inspired to create positive changes in their respective communities through policy-making and project implementation.

Representatives from the US Embassy also attended the event to understand how they can support and encourage Bicolano youth leaders in various programs and initiatives for the betterment of their fellow youth and the Filipino community as a whole.
