Schools based in the regions dominated the recently announced May 2025 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE), according to the official results released by the Professional Regulation Commission on Wednesday night, May 14.
University of Pangasinan emerged as the best-performing university (with 100 or more examinees) in the May 2025 nursing boards, producing a total of 354 registered nurses out of its 357 takers good for a 99.16% passing rate.
St. Paul University in Tuguegarao ranked second with 98.94% (186 of 188), followed by Gordon College in Olongapo with 98.29% (115 of 117).
For schools with 50 to 99 examinees, meanwhile, three schools– Southern Luzon State University-Lucban (SLSU), Eastern Samar State University-Borongan (ESSU), and Universidad de Zamboanga-Pagadian (UZ)– each achieved a 100% passing rate, tying for first place.
SLSU in Lucban, Quezon had all of its 77 takers overcome the licensure exam; ESSU in Borongan, Samar had 67; while UZ in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur had 50.

Meanwhile, Angelica Ferrer Dator, a product of the Lucban, Quezon-based Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), emerged as the May 2025 PNLE’s solo topnotcher after garnering an exam rating of 90%.
According to PRC, 6,935 out of 10,770 takers passed the nursing licensure exam, good for a 64.39% national passing rate.
