The town of Bugallon in Pangasinan lit up early for the holidays as it became the first town in the province to hold a Christmas lighting ceremony this 2025.

Residents gathered at the town plaza on Sunday evening as lights covering the area were switched on at once, revealing colorful decorations and a giant Christmas tree adorned with oversized sweets, from candies and lollipops to ice cream cones and donuts, a sight that delighted children and families alike.

“Bale so far, ganda po ngayon,” Josephine Dela Cruz, a resident, said.

“Ngayon po mas maganda decors. Ngayon tingnan niyo mas makulay, mas maganda,” Elisa Garcia, another resident, added.

The plaza also features several attractions such as a tunnel of lights, a favorite spot for photos, and an artificial snow area that gives visitors a taste of a winter experience in the tropics.

Engineer Jan Luzadas, Officer-in-Charge of the Bugallon Municipal Engineering Office, said they planned the display carefully to surprise the public.

“Pinag-isipan namin ‘yung design kung ano ilalagay namin para sorpresa po natin,” he said.

Municipal Administrator Aislyn de Guzman said the lighting event aims to lift the community’s spirits.

“Para sa ating kababayan para mas ma-feel nila ang diwa ng Pasko. Gusto namin sumaya ang aming kababayan,” she said.

The Christmas park will remain open every night for visitors throughout the holiday season.
