A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental around 7:34 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

PHIVOLCS said the epicenter was located 04.62°N, 125.24°E - 090 km S 12° W of Balut Island and had a depth of 10 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS added that the tremor was tectonic in origin.

  • Intensity II - Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; Norala, Banga, Santo Nino, and Surallah, South Cotabato; Lebak, Isulan, Kalamansig, and President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat
  • Intensity I - Magpet, M'lang, and President Roxas, Cotabato; Columbio and Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat

PHIVOLCS said there is no threat of a tsunami.
