If there is one person that is more stoked than anybody in this waiting game for the upcoming family drama “Honor Thy Mother,” it would have to be Barbie Forteza, who is set to co-lead the series with the country's Megastar Sharon Cuneta in what the Kapuso Primetime Princess considers a “childhood dream.”

Aside from a promising storyline that makes “Honor Thy Mother” a must-watch, the tandem of Barbie and Sharon– two of the most relevant actors the Philippine television has ever seen– has also grabbed headlines as the two join forces for the first time. 

The collab project between GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios – set to be produced by Dreamscape– is particularly remarkable for the Kapuso star, who described the opportunity as a ‘dream come true.’

“Noong ako po ay eight years old, nakita ko po na nanunuod ang nanay ko ng ‘Madrasta,’ at ang napanood ko pong eksena ay ang one of the many iconic scenes ng ating Megastar: I was never your partner, I am just your wife,” Barbie told members of the press during a story conference held last Friday, May 8, where she bared how her acting dreams were heavily influenced by Sharon’s award-winning performance in the Olivia Lamasan-directed family drama.

“And as young as eight years old, because of her (Sharon), because of that scene, I was very firm with my decision that I wanted to be an actress kaya talagang childhood dream come true ko po talaga ito,” Barbie narrated, “and I am proud to say that I am living my dream right now.”

Sharon would also return the words of admiration to her co-star, saying she got specifically excited when she learned of the opportunity to work alongside the Kapuso Primetime Princess in Honor Thy Mother. 

Honor Thy Mother is a Prime Video original series first revealed by the streaming service last April. Leading its supporting cast are John Estrada, Tonton Gutierrez, RK Bagasting, Mercedes Cabral, and Khalil Ramos.
