Student-athletes and delegation members joining the 66th Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur can avail of free tours to several attractions – including nature parks, sanctuaries, and museums – across the province, according to an official post on Facebook on Monday.
Many of the spots they can visit are located in the municipality of Prosperidad, such as the Tugonan Falls in Barangay San Lorenzo, Bega Falls and Ecotourism Park in Barangay Mabuhay, Puting Buhangin Cave in Barangay Poblacion, the Sugwak to Agusan Provincial Museum, and the Soil and Biogeochemistry Research Laboratory.
Also included are the Jordan Falls and USAD Cut Flower Demo Farm both in Bayugan City, the Toog Centennial Tree in San Francisco, the Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary at the Manobo Floating Village, and the Lerio Chocolate Cafe and VPO Farms and Eco Reserve in Rosario.
Two destinations (Bretania Group of Islands in San Agustin; Enchanted River in Hinatuan)
are located in Surigao del Sur as part of AgSur’s partnership with the latter’s provincial government.
Tour dates will start on May 17 and will run until May 22. Another batch of tours will be available from May 27 to June 1.
Services may be availed by visiting the Provincial Tourism Office of Agusan del Sur located at the heart of Gov. D.O. Plaza Government Center, or contacting 09925009677.
The organizers have also noted that only the transportation and entrance fees will be covered. Food and fees for optional activities are excluded from the program.
The touring services are part of Agusan del Sur’s momentous hosting of the upcoming national games.
A large-scale congregation that attracts contingents from each and every region nationwide, hosting the Palaro always serves as a prime opportunity to showcase the host province’s natural beauty and boost its economy and tourism.
During the Palarong Pambansa 2025, host province Ilocos Norte also launched a Free Tour Program that brought delegates to their iconic attraction spots.
