One of the country’s most respected and award-winning actors, Dennis Trillo, officially renewed his contract with GMA, reaffirming his commitment to the Network that has been home to many of his most memorable television and film projects throughout his career.

Leading the momentous contract signing event on Tuesday, August 4, were top Network executives, including President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, and Officer-in-Charge for Entertainment Group and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy. 

 Also present to show their support for the Kapuso Drama King were GMA executives Nessa Valdellon, Dingdong Caharian, Gigi Santiago-Lara, Mitzi Garcia, Helen Rose S. Sese, Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, Rosette Roa, Anj Atienza, Ruth Mariñas, and Jojo Aquio. 

 Adding a deeply personal touch to the celebration was the attendance of various program managers and executive producers, who have collaborated with Dennis throughout his 26-year career. 

Reflecting on his remarkable journey in the industry, Dennis expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Kapuso Network that helped shape his unparalleled artistry. According to Dennis, “Gusto kong magpasalamat sa GMA sa lahat ng tiwala, sa lahat ng trabaho. Hindi ko makakalimutang talagang binago ninyo ang buhay ko, lahat kayo, lahat ng pagkakataon na binigay ninyo sa akin. At hindi lang sa akin, kundi sa mga tao sa paligid ko, sa lahat din ng mga natulungan ko. Kaya maraming salamat sa inyo. Hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan ang pagbabago ng buhay ko dahil sa GMA.”

Dennis has also been on an impressive winning streak, most recently dominating the awards circuit for his masterful performance in the 2024 film Green Bones. His critically acclaimed portrayal earned him a sweep of Best Actor trophies at the Gawad Urian, The Eddys, Box Office Hero Awards, and the PASADO Awards. He further cemented his status as one of Asia's finest actors after being named Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards, triumphing over an accomplished field of nominees from across the region.

Looking ahead, Dennis shared that he is excited about his new projects, including the highly anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Amir. He mentioned, “Exciting dahil totoong nangyayari talaga dito sa Pilipinas at makikita ninyo kung ano talaga ‘yung hirap na pinagdaanan nila sa mga panahon na 'yun.” 

Meanwhile, Duavit commended the actor for consistently taking on some of the Network’s biggest and most demanding projects, “Dennis has always been at the forefront of the challenges that face us all as producers, and our success has been greatly influenced by his presence, his friendship, his person, 'yung pagkatao niya.” 

Yalong also underscored how Dennis has consistently set the gold standard for dramatic acting in the country, “I think Dennis is one of the finest actors the Philippines has produced. He has portrayed so many roles that you never thought of.”

Taking note of his character behind the camera, Ching-Sy pointed out the actor's genuine humility and devotion. “For more than two decades now, Dennis has proven that a true star is not defined only by trophies or box office movies or high-rating teleseryes. It is also defined by the relationships that he has built along the way, his professionalism, his humility, and most of all, his power or ability to move the audience in every role he takes on,” she shared.

Widely recognized for his remarkable range and versatility, Dennis continues to raise the bar with every role he takes on.
