A senior citizen was arrested by the Dumanjug Police for alleged acts of lasciviousness.
Alias “Lolo Talio,” 79 years old, married was in his residence in Barangay Bitoon, Dumanjug town, south Cebu Province when the warrant of arrest was served.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Josefina Beriarmente, chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Dumanjug Police Station, said that the molestation happened in November 2023.
The five-year-old girl told her mother that she was given a cellphone to tinker while “Lolo Talio” fondled allegedly her genitals.
The warrant of arrest for acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, was issued on February 2, 2024.
The warrant has recommended bail worth P180,000.
