VOTER REGISTRATION IN CENTRAL VISAYAS

Commission on Elections Central Visayas Director Lionel Marco Castillano, in an interview via GMA Regional TV "Balitang Bisdak," said that the registration is also for senior citizens and the differently abled who wish to have their precincts transferred to accessible polling places.

Registrants may visit the Office of Election Officer in their area, or satellite/mall registration sites, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on specific dates scheduled as no-registration days such as March 28 (Maundy Thursday) and March 29 (Good Friday).

For those who cannot go home to their respective hometowns, they can avail of the Register Anywhere project through mall registration sites.

"Mao ni atong bag-ong innovation," Castillano added. "Para dili na sila kinahanglan mo-absent sa trabaho para maka-register."

Satellite registration sites are located in mountain barangays, while mall registration sites are done in partner establishments such as SM Malls and Robinsons.

Castillano said the public may check the official Comelec social media pages for the schedule of registration.

Registration forms may be downloaded from comelec.gov.ph. Only one form is needed this time, unlike the previous three forms.
