Three people died while two others sustained injuries after a passenger van figured in a road accident on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Trece Martires, Casiguran, Sorsogon.
The van was headed to Matnog from Quezon City.
According to the Casiguran Municipal Police Station (MPS), the van attempted to avoid a truck parked on the side of the road but ended up ramming into the rear portion of the truck, instead.
The truck was parked on the road because it had reportedly broken down.
The driver, along with nine other passengers, were unharmed.
As of this writing, the drivers of the two vehicles are under the custody of the Casiguran MPS, awaiting on possible charges.
