Chaos ensued in Barangay Del Pilar, San Fernando City, Pampanga, after two armed individuals opened fire at a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while it was being refueled.

Police said a sedan was trailing the victims' SUV up to the gasoline station.

"While refueling po, ‘yung dalawang sakay po ng sedan biglang pinaulanan ng bala ang mga biktima," PLTCOL. Jaime Edejer, Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU) Chief of Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO), said.

The two men inside the SUV died, while one other occupant managed to escape and survive.

The victims were identified as Matt Ryan Dela Cruz, Barangay Chairman of San Pedro Cutud, and his driver, Henry Aquino.

The Regional Director has activated a Special Investigation Task Group named SITG Dela Cruz.

Condolences have poured in from various sectors, including the Provincial Government of Pampanga and the City Government of San Fernando, both pledging support to ensure justice for the deceased.

As of this writing, the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues its investigation to identify the suspects and determine the motive.
