The Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) has ordered the Qimonda I.T. Center Building vacated due to the damage it incurred from the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu.

The building which houses the Regional Trial Court, among others, will undergo rehabilitation. Court hearings will move online.

The earthquake struck northern Cebu on September 30, 2025 but strong tremors, including aftershocks, were felt in Cebu City.

Councilor Dave Tumulak, chairperson of the city's disaster council, confirmed that the CCDRRMO has ordered Qimonda I.T. Center Building at the North Reclamation Area vacated on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 for being "risky."

"Vacate the whole premises sa Qimonda to pave way sa repair nga pagahimuon sa maong building. This is for the safety sa atong mga judges, lawyers, mga clients sa maong building. Kay based on the recommendation of structural engineers, kinahanglan gyud ang thorough investigation on the whole building kay bisan kuno'g wa'y linog kalit lang ni'g lihok kining maong building," Tumulak said.

Major repairs will be done to the entire building, Tumulak added based on CDRRMO's recommendation to the Office of the Building Official (OBO).

Tumulak also said that the only personnel allowed to remain outside of the building, under tents, are those in-charge of processing bails.
