The 2025 Bar Examinations saw an increase in both the total number of passers and takers compared to the 2024 Bar, ushering in the second highest national passing rate since 2017.
As per the Supreme Court’s announcement on Wednesday, January 7, a total of 5,594 passed the 2025 Bar– 1,632 higher than the 3,962 count last year, with the total number of takers also rising from 10,469 to 11,435.
The 5,594 successful examinees is the highest tally in 15 years (since 2010) after the historical 2020-2021 Philippine Bar Exams jointly held in February 2022 due to pandemic delays, where 8,241 passed out of 11,402 good for a 72.28% passing rate.
This resulted in a 49.48% 2025 national passing rate– the second highest in a nine-year span, next only to the 72.28% passing rate during the pandemic Bar exam. It is 12.14% higher than the 37.84% registered in 2024.
In September last year, the 2025 Bar Examinations already made history by registering all-time highs in admitted candidates in bar exam history (13,193), first day turnout (11,437), and total number of exam finishers (11,425).
