A man broke into a tire shop by cutting through the roof and crawling inside the office, in a late-night burglary captured on CCTV in Barangay Mancup, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Footage showed the suspect climbing onto the roof of the shop past midnight on Saturday before entering the building.

Another CCTV angle showed him already inside the shop, moving into a small office area.

The man even made the sign of the cross before searching the premises using a flashlight.

After several minutes, he was seen leaving the office carrying a small bag. He then looked for a way up to the ceiling before exiting the shop through the same entry point.

The break-in was discovered the following morning.

The suspect reportedly cut a small section of the metal roof and broke the ceiling panel, which served as his entry and exit point.

Donnell Javier, the shop owner, said the damage inside showed clear signs of forced entry.

“May butas na po sa taas tapos pati kisame, kalat na po dito sa loob. May natuntungan siya sa gilid pero maliwanag naman na diyan sa labas. Sadyang malakas lang loob niya,” Javier said.

The suspect took about P11,000 in coins, mostly in 20-peso denominations, according to the owner.

Javier said he does not yet know who was behind the theft but believes it was carefully planned.

“Alam kasi niya pati tutuntungan niya at bababaan niya kaya alam niya,” he added.

The incident was reported to village officials, and CCTV footage has been turned over to Calasiao police for investigation.

The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office said it is increasing police visibility across the province to prevent similar crimes.

It is also working with local force multipliers in different towns.

“Nakikipag-coordinate na kami sa mga barangay CVO’s, kasama na natin silang nag-iikot,” PCOL Arbel Merculo, provincial police director, said.
