Authorities arrested four Chinese nationals in separate operations in Zamboanga for alleged fraud and violation of Philippine immigration laws.
According to the Army’s 1st Infantry Division (1ID), personnel of the Intelligence Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), Bureau of Immigration, and police officers arrested three Chinese nationals on Gov. Camins Avenue, Zamboanga City on April 14, 2026.
1ID said the foreigners – a 57-year-old man and two women, 54 and 41 years old – were born in Fujian, China.
“The arrested individuals were found to have violated Philippine immigration and public documentation laws and are liable for Undesirability under Section 3 of Operations Order No. SBM 2014-048, having posed risks to public interest, national security, and public order,” 1ID said.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old Chinese who was also born in Fujian, China, was arrested in a separate operation in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Authorities said the foreigner allegedly claimed false Philippine citizenship to secure government-issued ID and corporate documents.
The operating team also seized alleged smuggled goods, including exotic animals, during the operation.
1ID Commander, Major General Yegor Rey Barroquillo Jr., lauded the operating team for the successful operations and commended their dedication to protect national security, preserve public order, and ensure that the rule of law is upheld across the region.
